Safety Contacts

There are several different public safety contacts available if you need support with a safety issue in the City of Lethbridge. Learn who to contact in the following situations:

To report a crime, you can submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

You can also use the Lethbridge Police Service online reporting tool.

The P3 Tips App allows you to anonymously share information via your phone, with Crime Stoppers programs, law enforcement organizations, schools and large corporations around the world. The app is available on Apple’s App Store and Android’s Google Play.

 

To report biohazards, evidence of sleeping rough, encampments and needle debris, please use our online reporting form.

If there is a crime in progress or an imminent threat please call 911 or, the police complaint line at 403-328-4444 for non-urgent crime reporting.

If you experience physical or verbal threats, call the Lethbridge Police Service’s complaint line at 403-328-4444.

Call 9-1-1 if you believe your health is in danger or if weapons are used or seen in potentially violent situations.

If you experience panhandling, loitering, trespassing or public urination, call the Lethbridge Police Service’s complaint line at 403-328-4444.

If you experience abnormal street behaviours or public intoxication, call the Diversion Outreach Team at 403-892-3707. This team provides support for those vulnerable to homelessness, mental health concerns or addictions on the streets of Lethbridge.

If you experience theft or damage to property, call the Lethbridge Police Service’s complaint line at 403-328-4444. If you want to report a theft without a suspect, you can also report the theft online with Lethbridge Police Service.

If you find needle or drug debris on the ground or around the community, call the Needle Pick-up Hotline at 403-332-0722. The hotline is available from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days per week except for holidays.

We urge business owners, who find used needles or drug debris in public places or on their property, not to handle, remove or dispose of needles in garbage cans.

To request an escorted walk (Safewalk) to and from any location within The Watch’s patrol zone in Lethbridge, please call 403-715-9255 (WALK). The service is available to all members of the public from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days per week. A volunteer member will be dispatched to your location and escort you to your destination after you make your request.
