Canada Post delays impacting business and dog licence renewals

If you own a business or a dog in Lethbridge, take note! The mail out of renewal notices for approximately 12,000 business and dog licences in the city is being impacted by the recent Canada Post strike.

Most owners awaiting their renewal notice will receive it in the mail after the January 1, 2025, due date. Owners will not incur a financial penalty for payments made after January 1.

Want to pay your renewal notice prior to receiving your notice? All online licence renewal payments require a unique access code, located on the invoice. Owners wishing to pay before receiving the invoice (using the City’s Online Payment System) can contact Lethbridge 311 for their access code.

Delays are also expected in the mail out of 2025 business licences. Business owners are encouraged to keep proof of invoice payment until the new licence has arrived.
