City encourages e-billing amid possible postal strike

For Immediate Release
November 14, 2024

Due to the possibility of a strike at Canada Post, Lethbridge residents are encouraged to register for e-billing for their utility bills, to help ensure that they receive them on time, should there be a disruption in mail delivery.

Residents are advised against sending payments for taxes, utilities or other City bills through the mail. Residents should also be aware that in the event of a strike, physical copies of bills will not be sent out.

E-billing can be setup online at www.lethbridgeutility.com or by calling 311.

Alternative methods of payment are also available:

·       In-person at City Hall, 910-4 Ave. S, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. business days. Cash, cheques and debit are accepted.

·       Deposit boxes at the following locations:

o   City Hall - front entrance and the drop box at the rear of City Hall in the round-about

o   Fritz Sick Centre

o   Nicholas Sheran Pool

·       Online banking – please allow 2-3 business days for processing

·       In-person at banks and most other financial institutions

Payments are due by the date indicated on your tax notice, utility bill or other payment notice. Late payment fees will not be waived due to any postal strike action.
