City information platforms busy again in 2023
Lethbridge residents used many different platforms to reach out to the City of Lethbridge in 2023.
Residents made great use of Lethbridge 311. Between December 1, 2022 and December 1, 2023 customer service staff fielded 107,162 phone calls and 8,206 chats. Popular topics included Waste & Recycling and Water & Wastewater.
Get Involved Lethbridge, the City's engagement website, had more than 50,835 visits, up from 46,464 in 2022. A total of 8,764 survey responses were captured. The top 2023 surveys included:
- Harmonized School and Playground Zones: 1,832 contributions
- How has the Residential Speed Limit Reduction pilot affected you?: 1,682 contributions
- Additional Dog Parks. Phase 2: 1,119 contributions
- Housing with Social Support and Social Services Survey (land use bylaw renewal): 831 contributions
Since launching on April 25, 2023 the new City of Lethbridge website had more than 1.4 million page views from 375,000 visitors. The modern and streamlined site was trimmed from more than 2,000 pages to just over 300 and is focused on ease of use for residents.
Here are some 2023 highlights from the City's official social media pages:
- YouTube had 95,900 video views, more than double the 42,917 views in 2022. Total viewing hours were nearly 7,000.
- Facebook reached 552,605 people, up from 466,055 in 2022. The site ends 2023 with more than 21,000 followers
- Instagram reached 141,089 people and added almost 1,000 new followers of the nearly-14,000 total followers
- X (formerly Twitter) had 1,240 posts and 2,200,000 impressions
