City’s yard waste sites reopen tomorrow

The City of Lethbridge’s three self-service yard waste sites are open for the season starting Tuesday, April 1.

All three locations will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.:

  • North - 2200 Stafford Drive North
  • South - 2665 28 Avenue South
  • West - 296 Bridge Drive West

The public is reminded to follow good yard waste site practices to help ensure a safe and successful experience for all customers:

  • Residential yard waste only.
  • You must be able to unload your own materials.
  • Use paper bags to avoid having to unbag materials from plastic bags.
  • Only one person is allowed at a time when using the compactor or branch chipper.
  • During peak times, customers with trailers full of materials may be directed to the Waste & Recycling Centre to drop off their load.
  • Diseased elm tree branches must be taken to the Waste & Recycling Centre. (Elm tree pruning ban is in effect as of April 1.)

Residents are also reminded that most yard waste can go into their green cart. If you aren’t sure if your yard waste is green cart or yard waste site approved, look it up with the Waste Wizard or the Lethbridge Loop app.
