City warns community of Lethbridge Transit Fare Card scam

The City of Lethbridge is warning the public about a payment scam circulating on Facebook regarding purchasing an ‘unlimited travel smartcard.’

The Facebook profile, Public transport in Lethbridge, has two posts that have been shared offering the fraudulent smartcards if users click a link and enter their credit card information.

The background features the City of Lethbridge logo and text that reads, "City warns community of Transit Fare Card scam." At the bottom, there is additional text: "Learn more at lethbridge.ca".

The page and posts have been reported to Facebook and the City has commented on the posts to help alert Facebook users to the fraudulent offer. Residents are encouraged to report and block the page.
