Lethbridge City Council voted unanimously to provide the Lethbridge Housing Authority (LHA) with contingency funding up to $1.05 million to support their new supportive housing project located at 416 Stafford Drive North. The City’s grant funding contribution will come from the Affordable and Social Housing Capital Fund, which had unallocated funds of $2.7 million available to support social and affordable housing projects. The City’s funding will be used as contingency funding and is conditional to the inclusion of key project features that are crucial for promoting safety and wellbeing. Council voted 8-1 to refer an Official Business Motion from Councillor John Middleton-Hope, on Fee-For-Service Cost Benefit Analysis, to the July 11 Economic & Finance SPC meeting

From an Administration Submission, Council approved an Operating Budget amendment for purchase of Fire Engine

As part of the Consent Agenda approval, the following items were also carried: Recommendation of Governance Standing Policy Committee - 2024 Civic Culture Plan; Recommendation of Governance Standing Policy Committee - Bylaw 6448 – A Bylaw to Amend Bylaw 6099 (City Manager Bylaw); and Recommendation of Governance Standing Policy Committee - Bylaw 6431 - A Bylaw of the City of Lethbridge to Amend the City Manager Bylaw (Bylaw No. 6099) and City Clerk Bylaw (Bylaw No. 4783)
