Council Highlights March 12, 2024
- On the proposed Official Business Motion from Councillor Rajko Dodic regarding bicycle paths and lanes, Lethbridge City Council voted 8-1 to refer the matter to the May 2 Assets and Infrastructure SPC meeting to receive further public input on the matter. Administration will have additional information on the project and will work with Downtown BRZ to invite downtown businesses to the meeting. There will also be an information booth at the April 25 Community Conversation event at the ENMAX Centre
- In a motion arising from Councillor Belinda Crowson, Council unanimously supported Administration inviting further community engagement at the coming Community Conversation regarding how the City can further support businesses
- Council voted 5-3 against an Official Business Motion from Councillor Jeff Carlson on Lethbridge Police Commission Bylaw – Appointment Amendment
- Council voted unanimously in favour of an Official Business Motion from Councillor Rajko Dodic on Lethbridge and District Exhibition Monthly Financial Reporting
- Council voted 6-3 to approve Bylaw 6439 - A bylaw to amend Bylaw 5803 - Elections Bylaw, which will increased the number of eligible elector signatures for Councillor and for Mayor to 50 and 100 respectively
- Council voted unanimously to approve the 2024 Public Tax Auction Reserve Bids
- Following a Public Hearing, Council voted unanimously on both second and third readings to both Bylaw 6432 - Amendment to the West Lethbridge Phase II Area Structure Plan (ASP) and Bylaw 6433 – Land Use Bylaw Amendment re:423 Caledonia Blvd W & 1220 30 St W
- With approval of the Consent Agenda, Council voted to approve the Recommendation of Gov SPC - 2023 Electric Utility-Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) Compliance Report and the Recommendation of Gov SPC-Bylaw 6440-Reconciliation Lethbridge Advisory Committee Bylaw
