Council members promoting community priorities at Alberta Municipalities Convention

Expansion of Lethbridge water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, Highway 3 bridge and interchange improvements plus continued collaboration on physician recruitment will be the top advocacy items this week for Lethbridge City Council.

Mayor Blaine Hyggen, Councillors Belinda Crowson, John Middleton-Hope and Jenn Schimdt-Rempel, as well as City Manager Lloyd Brierley, are all attending the latest Alberta Municipalities Convention. It began today in Red Deer and will continue through Friday.

“This is a great opportunity for members of Council and the City Manager to meet with Provincial Ministers and continue to advocate for the supports we need in our city to best serve our residents,” says Hyggen. “We will be very clear in our objectives related to our needs involving water and wastewater treatment infrastructure, Highway 3 bridge improvements and continued physician recruitment.”

“With a coordinated and strategic approach between our elected officials and municipal administrators, this convention is an excellent connection point to help move our community priorities forward,” says Brierley.
