Crews addressing wastewater pipe leak in the River Valley

The City of Lethbridge is addressing a wastewater pipe leak in the River Valley, located northeast of the University of Lethbridge. There is no danger to public health or impact to City services. The area impacted by the leak is closed and the public is asked to stay outside the posted fencing and tape. Portions of the pathway will also be closed to facilitate the repair.

The City is working closely with Alberta Environment to implement a response and repair plan.

At this stage, no wastewater is believed to have entered the Oldman River. Sampling is underway to confirm this information.

Repairs are expected to be completed within the next three weeks, weather permitting. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this process.
