Expanding food truck access in 2025

Let them eat cake! And burgers! And pizza! And ice cream! And let them do it more places!

There are now five approved locations in Lethbridge where food trucks and mobile vending machines can set up on a first-come, first-served basis.

Three locations were part of a 2024 pilot program:

  • Indian Battle Park
  • Lethbridge Sports Park
  • Park ‘n’ Bark Dog Park

New for 2025 are the additions of:

  • Atso Towaawa Park
  • Nicholas Sheran Leisure Centre

All five locations have designated food truck parking areas.

New this year, all food trucks in Lethbridge need an inspection by a Fire Prevention Officer before they can get the green light to operate. Once they pass the inspection, they'll receive an approval window decal and certificate. This inspection and approval process happens once a year. There is no charge for the initial inspection and approval.

To prepare for an inspection, please read the LFES Food Truck Inspection Information Guide. Once you are ready for an inspection, please complete the LFES Food Truck Inspection Request Form and email it to fireprevention@lethbridge.ca.

Food truck vendors selling on public property require a Mobile Vending Permit. Merchants can contact 311 and ask to speak to the Traffic Technologist or Parking Coordinator. Retailers wishing to access other City of Lethbridge parks can also contact 311.

For more details, including additional operational and safety requirements, check out the City’s website.
