Fire Advisory issued for River Valley
Residents are urged to take extra care when enjoying the parks in the River Valley due to the dry conditions and recent warmer temperatures which are expected to continue.
Lethbridge Fire & EMS has issued a Fire Advisory effective immediately for all City of Lethbridge parks in the River Valley area.
Under the advisory, recreational fires are allowed in the fire pits provided, as are propane fueled cooking appliances. Residents are asked that all smoking material be disposed of properly.
This advisory has been put in place to inform residents of the current wildfire risks within our River Valley parks. Wildfires can threaten public safety, cause property damage, create poor air quality and result in evacuation.
Lethbridge Fire & EMS will be monitoring the fire risk conditions weekly and make changes when necessary. If conditions worsen, the Fire Advisory may progress to a Restriction or Fire Ban at any time.
The City’s webpage will be updated with Fire Ban information as the situation changes.
We encourage the public to get outside and enjoy the river valley parks during this spring weather.
