Fire crews prevent major damage in suspicious weekend structure fire

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire at a multi-unit building on the 600 block of 3 Avenue South just before 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 29. 

Firefighters from four stations were dispatched. Crews arrived to find flames visible on a second-floor balcony. Firefighters quickly contained and extinguished the fire before it could spread throughout the structure. 

The fire caused an estimated $125,000 in damage, including water damage to the apartment building and two businesses below. No injuries were reported. The Lethbridge Police Service is currently investigating the fire.
