For those about to reduce, reuse, and recycle… we salute you! 🎵

Calling all reduce, reuse, and recycle rockstars! The City of Lethbridge is once again putting out the call for the community to 'trash' wasteful habits and invites everyone to take part in Waste Reduction Week.

There are a series of events organized for Waste Reduction Week to highlight ways we can all do our part to reduce waste:

Saturday, October 19: Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Roundup
Have old TVs, printers, paint cans, propane tanks, and batteries taking up space at home? Here’s your chance to clear out that storage space and recycle your household hazardous waste and electronics! The Roundup takes place at Park Place Mall northwest parking lot between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Residential household hazardous waste and electronics only.

Tuesday, October 22: ‘Plastic People’ Movie Screening at the Movie Mill (hosted by Environment Lethbridge’s Wasteless Team)
Join Environment Lethbridge and Wasteless for a free screening of ‘Plastic People’ at the Movie Mill (1720 Mayor Magrath Dr S) from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The groundbreaking feature documentary investigates our addiction to plastic and the growing threat of microplastics on human health.

Thursday, October 24: Compost & Mulch Giveaway
It’s not too late to fortify your soil for future gardening projects with compost or mulch. Come to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena (formerly the ENMAX Centre) east parking lot between 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. to pick up compost or mulch for use at home. Bring your own shovels, gloves and containers to transport your compost and mulch home. Households are limited to 40 litres (10 gallons) of compost and mulch.

Keep an eye on the City’s social media channels from October 21-27 to learn more about how to reduce your waste and help contribute to our community’s success in championing waste reduction. You can also learn more about Waste Reduction Week by visiting the Circular Economy Month website.
