Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services celebrates graduation of five new Firefighter Paramedics
Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) is proud to announce the graduation of five new Firefighter Paramedics. The graduation ceremony took place today at the Galt Museum, recognizing their hard work and dedication as they prepare to serve the Lethbridge community.
The recruits completed a 12-week intensive training program, learning essential firefighter, rescue and emergency medical skills. Their training included a wide range of life-saving techniques, such as vehicle extrication and handling hazardous materials.
"Our training prepares these recruits to face critical situations with the confidence," says Sean Larkin, Lead Fire Training Officer for the Fall 2024 class. “They have the skills necessary to protect the citizens of Lethbridge. We are proud to see them join our ranks, ready to uphold the high standards of LFES.”
LFES has been a trusted integrated emergency service provider in Lethbridge since 1912. The department’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its top rating from Accreditation Canada and its strong CPR performance, placing it among Alberta’s top performing services.
“Each recruit embodies our values of professionalism, courage and commitment,” says Wesley Borland, Deputy Chief of Training with LFES. “We are thrilled to have them on our team, confident they will continue our tradition of great service.”
The new LFES Firefighter Paramedics include:
