Night construction on Crowsnest Trail (Highway 3) April 17 to July 31

Nighttime construction will take place on Highway 3 in Lethbridge from April 17 to July 31, led by Ledcor Highways Ltd. on behalf of Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors.

Work locations:

  • Highway 3 from just east of Highway 25 (which is University Drive south of Highway 3) to east of 43 Street, including the 43 Street intersection

Night work (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) will include:

  • Milling, paving, concrete work, signage and signal upgrade
  • Grooved pavement, temporary markings
  • Lane, ramp and turn-lane closures
  • Reduced speed zones

During the day (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.):

  • Ramps open
  • Two lanes in each direction usually available

Note: This is a Provincial highway project managed by the Province of Alberta, not the City of Lethbridge.

Electronic message boards and signage will be in place to advise motorists of upcoming changes. The July 31 completion date is weather dependent. For updates, visit 511.alberta.ca

Stay safe, follow signs and reduce speed

Please maintain safe distance from all excavated areas and machinery while work is in progress. As crews and contractors work to upgrade and maintain the streets and roads, motorists are asked to slow down and pay attention to signage to keep crews and themselves safe.
