Quick work limits damage in apartment complex fire

A coordinated effort by Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services is being credited with limiting damage in an apartment complex fire.

Just before 10 a.m. on October 28, crews from five stations responded to the blaze in the 2500 block of 5 Avenue South. They arrived to find flames coming from an apartment suite.

While the building did suffer smoke damage, the swift response helped contain the fire to the original suite and save the rest of the structure from burning.

Damage is estimated at $350,000. An investigation continues into the cause of the fire.
