Residential structure fire on 3 Avenue North

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a fire at the 1600 block of 3 Avenue North at approximately 11:05 p.m. on Friday, August 9.

A next-door neighbour immediately called 911 upon noticing the fire, while another neighbour alerted the family inside. 

Fire crews from four stations arrived to find the rear garage fully engulfed in flames, with the fire extending to cause significant damage to the home.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but one firefighter suffered minor injuries. During a search of the home, one of the family’s pets was found deceased.

The cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation and damage is estimated at approximately $500,000.
