Road work this week on 5 Avenue North, plus University Drive/Whoop-Up Drive bridge
Motorists can expect minor delays this week on two busy Lethbridge roadways.
- From Wednesday, June 21 to Thursday, June 22, weather permitting, there will be a partial road closure for overlay paving for the eastbound lanes of 5 Avenue North from 29 Street to 31 Street. Two-way traffic will be maintained and detour signs will be posted. Motorists can expect minor delays
- On Thursday, June 22, contractor Volker Stevin will begin barrier repair under the University Drive/Whoop-Up Drive bridge. This will impact the westbound lanes of Whoop-Up Drive with speed limits reduced to 60 km/h while workers are on site. When the contractor is not on site, they will remove the signage. Motorists can expect some minor delays. This work, an update to 2022 Bridge Rehabilitation project, will take approximately four days, weather and site conditions permitting
- On Friday, June 23, weather permitting, there will be a partial road closure for overlay paving for the westbound lanes of 5 Avenue North from 41 Street to 39 Street. Two-way traffic will be maintained and detour signs will be posted. Motorists can expect minor delays.
Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to follow posted detours and signage to keep everyone safe at these and all current work sites.
