Service level impacts during the 2024/2025 holiday season

The holiday season is almost upon us. Wednesday, December 25 is Christmas Day. Thursday, December 26 is Boxing Day. Wednesday, January 1 is New Year’s Day. The trio of statutory holidays means the City will have service level changes.

Lethbridge 311

The Lethbridge 311 contact centre will be closed Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26 and Monday, January 1. 

We have a 24/7 self-service site available at 311.lethbridge.ca to help with your questions. For urgent issues, a 24-hr trouble line is available by calling 311.

City Hall

City Hall will be closed from Monday, December 23 to Friday, December 27 and on Wednesday, January 1.

Waste and Recycling

The Waste and Recycling Centre will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26 and Wednesday, January 1.

In addition, the Blue Sky Centre will be closed on Friday, December 27 and Friday, January 3.

Curbside collections scheduled for Wednesday, December 25 are moved to Saturday, December 28. Curbside collections scheduled for Wednesday, January 1 are moved to Saturday, January 4.

Community Animal Services

Community Animal Services and the Lethbridge Animal Shelter will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26 and Wednesday, January 1.

The public can access services on the website at any time including dog license payments, appointment booking, online complaint reporting and searching a list of found pets impounded at the shelter.

Transit Service

There is no transit service on Wednesday, December 25.

Ride on Demand and Fixed Route transit schedules will run on Sunday service on Thursday, December 26 and Wednesday, January 1.

The Lethbridge Transit customer service desk at Park ‘n’ Ride City Centre Station will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26 and Wednesday, January 1.

Access-A-Ride

Access-A-Ride booking and customer service will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26 and Wednesday, January 1.

Galt Museum & Archives/Fort Whoop-Up

The Galt Museum will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26 and Wednesday, January 1.

Fort Whoop-Up is closed for the season. 

Helen Schuler Nature Centre

The Helen Schuler Nature Centre will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26 and Wednesday, January 1.

The Nature Centre will be open extended holiday hours December 27 through January 4, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Lethbridge Public Library

Both branches of the Lethbridge Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, Thursday, December 26 and Wednesday, January 1.

The branches will also close early (4 p.m.) on Tuesday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 31.
