Share your feedback on snow routes and windrow assistance

The City of Lethbridge wants your feedback on snow routes and the windrow assistance pilot. A new snow route network was implemented in the 2023/2024 season. The changes affected 80 kms of roadway around the city and the Transportation Operations department would like to hear the community’s thoughts and experiences.

An online survey is now open until March 23, 2025 and is intended to collect input from anyone affected by the changes, including:

• residents who live along snow routes,
• subscribers to the Windrow Assistance Service pilot,
• those who used affected roadways for getting around the city.  

The information from this survey will be included in public reporting and considered in planning for the next winter season. 

“Based on community input last year, we piloted a Windrow Assistance Service to help balance community needs with cost savings and we’d like to hear from subscribers and affected residents.” says Juliane Ruck, Manager, Transportation Operations. “We’ve only had to activate snow routes once this season, so we’re leaving the survey open for a longer duration so people can respond when snow is top-of-mind.”

Residents who live on snow routes and have downloaded the Lethbridge Loop app or signed up for notifications, will receive an automated message with a survey link. All community members can access the survey by visiting Get Involved Lethbridge: Snow Control Service Level Changes or by calling 311. 

Anyone who completes a survey will have the opportunity to enter a draw for a custom prize package: a leaf/snow blower and a ride-along Transportation experience. The winner will need to comply with the City’s standard contest terms and conditions to claim their prize and will be notified by the end of April.
