The Mighty Neighbors Winter Warrior Edition returns to highlight Lethbridge’s everyday heroes

The Mighty Neighbours Winter Warrior Edition is back to give Lethbridge’s finest neighbours another warm round of applause. After the first heroic winter and summer season in 2024, get ready to highlight the everyday heroes who make our neighbourhoods not just winter-ready, but mighty good places to live.

The winter edition of this campaign invites residents to nominate neighbours who help others shovel snow, scoop debris from the gutters lining their street, or make sure the not-so-glamorous task of doggie doo clean-up is always done. “We’re really happy to bring this initiative back for another winter season,” says Heather Gowland, Transportation Communication Strategist. “Last year we saw close to 100 nominations, each recounting neighbourhood stories with community spirit that improves the comfort, safety, and accessibility for everyone”.

To nominate a Mighty Neighbour, simply visit lethbridge.ca/MightyNeighbours and share tales of the neighbours who swoop in to help out in your neighbourhood, even on the coolest days. From snow heroes with shovels to poop-scooping champions, let's shine a spotlight on these remarkable individuals.  

Each winter month a nomination will be drawn and the nominator from this entry will receive a small recognition gift to share with their nominee. Nomination stories will be shared through the City’s social media channels during the winter. Each season, the program is reviewed to determine community interest and continuity.
