Watermain upgrades for 11 Street South start next week

Residents and businesses along 11 Street South are getting an upgrade to their water service infrastructure this summer.

The City will be replacing the watermain along 11 Street South between 3 Avenue and 6 Avenue South starting Tuesday, May 21. The work is expected to be completed by the end of September this year.

The watermain infrastructure in the area is more than 85 years old. This work is needed to ensure reliable service for residents and businesses. Without the upgrade, infrastructure is likely to fail unexpectedly and will require more time, resources and dollars to repair on an emergency basis.

Parking access and brief interruptions to the water service can be expected during this work. The City and project contractor are working with residents and businesses to find convenient opportunities to switch their water services over to the new watermain.
