Father Leonard Van Tighem School Park
These school grounds are an excellent example of how to maximize available space for optimal recreation. The northern part of the park is sloped for sledding and features an open field for play, two child soccer pitches, one youth baseball diamond and an adult sized football field. Impromptu play on sports fields is permitted as long as the field isn’t in use. Scheduled play on all sports fields must be pre-booked through Recreation and Culture.
This large playground is exciting and well used. The park is part of the pathway system that goes under University Drive and ties into the Heritage and Ridgewood neighbourhoods. The south end of the park features a small pond with mature trees surrounding it as well as a small stream that meanders beside it.
Please note: dogs are not permitted on school or sports fields.
