Amendments to Statutory Plans approved by City Council pursuant to the Municipal Government Act are required for changes to policies or land use concepts.

Statutory Plans include the Integrated Community Sustainability Plan / Municipal Development Plan (ICSP/MDP), Area Redevelopment Plans (ARP) approved for older neighbourhoods, and Area Structure Plans (ASP) for new subdivisions and growth areas.

Due to the public engagement involved with preparing and adopting as Statutory Plan, an amendment will also require a level of engagement appropriate to the scale of the plan. Area Redevelopment Plan amendments must include participation from the applicable neighbourhood association.
