It only takes a spark on a windy day to start a fast-moving grass fire in Lethbridge.  

With warm temperatures, low humidity and dry vegetation across southern Alberta, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services is reminding residents that wildfire risk in the city is currently high.

Final work on a busy south Lethbridge pathway begins on Wednesday, April 15.

Pathway 17 is a multi-use trail along 43 Street South and South Parkside Drive South.

Ahead of this year’s maintenance work, further site evaluation work will create some temporary partial lane closures on Whoop-Up Drive Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
