    Park ‘n’ Bark Upcoming Closure

    Beginning Monday, November 20, the Park ‘n’ Bark will be closed to the public for the installation of light poles and bases.

    The light fixtures will be installed at a later date which will complete the project of lighting the park.

    The new Inclusive and Accessible Play Space at Galt Gardens is now open. Located immediately adjacent to the Rotary Centennial Fountain in the southeast corner of the four-hectare park, the new space features inclusive and accessible play equipment, rubber surfacing, a plaza space and park furniture.

    The east position of the Wade Galloway Skate Park will be temporarily closed this week, as some concrete repairs will be taking place from today until Saturday.

    Kids of all ages have one final weekend to enjoy Legacy spray park, located in the north end of Legacy Park, as it will be closed for the season end of day Sunday.

    Goldfish Mitigation – Chinook Lake and Elma Groves stormpond

    The City of Lethbridge needs to remove goldfish and koi out of Chinook Lake and Elma Groves stormpond. Goldfish and koi are non-native species introduced into lakes and stormponds that cause problems for the native species and the habitat.

    The City of Lethbridge is welcoming residents to participate in Goldfish Derby Days to learn about invasive goldfish and koi found in local stormponds.

    They’re baaaaaack, goats returning this summer!

    For the past five summers, goats have been used to help control invasive weeds in select areas of the river valley, and since the introduction of the program over 750 hectares of invasive weeds have been grazed.
