  • Council responds to community on off-leash dog parks

    Following extensive engagement and community feedback, Lethbridge City Council will not proceed on six previously-proposed dog park locations in established neighbourhoods. Instead, based on the engagement results, Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to consider appropriate areas for future dog parks when new Outline Plans, or amendments to Outline Plans, come forward. This will involve continued work with BILD Lethbridge, land developers and landowners moving forward.

  • Skate Park renamed to honour late Councillor Wade Galloway

    Skateboarders, inline skaters, BMX and scooter riders will soon be shredding at the Wade Galloway Skate Park as City Council approved a new multi-year sponsorship deal with the Wade Galloway Foundation. The site, formally known as the SLP Skate Park, was a passion project for Galloway as he advocated for, and raised money towards, the construction of the facility.

Today, the City of Lethbridge is thrilled to officially open the second phase of Legacy Park, the regional north destination for residents and visitors. Phase 2 amenities include a spray park, discovery playground, pavilion and picnic shelter.

    ​The City of Lethbridge has been successful in securing $375,000 in grant funding through the Government of Canada's Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) to construct a new Inclusive and Accessible Play Space in Galt Gardens that will add to community vibrancy and the vitality of downtown by fostering active, social, educational, inclusive and accessible play opportunities.
