  • School exchange kids in Chambers
    Recent Saint-Laurent exchange another success

    As Labour Day is set to usher in the unofficial end of summer, one group of local students is already reminiscing about a memorable trip earlier this season. Five students aged 14-16 recently completed the 57th Saint-Laurent exchange. A delegation from Saint-Laurent, Quebec, first travelled to Lethbridge from July 10–17, followed by the Lethbridge delegation travelling to Saint-Laurent from August 7–14.

    It’s almost time for Whoop-Up Days! With a direct tie-in to Lethbridge’s biggest festival, I’m happy to announce the return of the Mayor’s Community Barbecue for a third year. It will take place on Tuesday, August 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. outside Lethbridge City Hall on 4 Avenue, following the Whoop-Up Days parade.

  • A dose of success: City launches updated plan to recruit physicians

    The City of Lethbridge is renewing efforts to attract more physicians, with an updated action plan.

  • Council approves several redevelopment incentive projects

    Promoting development and diversification of the local economy continues to be a priority for Lethbridge City Council. During its regular meeting on Tuesday, Council voted to approve several Targeted Redevelopment Incentive Program (TRIP) applications – which collectively could have a building construction value of $36 million. Tuesday’s approvals were solely for the TRIP funding. Each of these proposed projects will still need to go through the zoning process and Public Hearings before being approved to build.

     

  • City Council supports local bid to host 2026 Memorial Cup

    With the continued community focus and partnership between the Lethbridge Hurricanes and the City of Lethbridge at the forefront, Canada’s top hockey tournament is now closer to being hosted in Lethbridge for the first time. Lethbridge City Council on Tuesday voted to provide $1.25 million and a letter of support to the Sport Tourism Advisory Committee in their bid to host the 2026 Memorial Cup.
