    cityLINK schedule changes in effect starting February 5

    Starting on Wednesday, February 5, Transit users can expect a change to schedules around the city as part of Lethbridge Transit’s continuous improvement process.

  • River Valley siphon leaks fixed and flowing again

    Siphon leaks in the River Valley have been repaired and are now fully operational.

    The leaking was first noticed on January 8 when it caused a sinkhole and wastewater to surface.

    Crews from two stations were called to a vehicle fire at a westside residence on Sunday, February 2.

  • Mandatory business waste reports due today

    The deadline for businesses, organizations and institutions to submit their annual mandatory waste reports is today. 

    More than 500 businesses have already filed their reports with the free and easy-to-use online system, which takes less than five minutes to complete. The online portal will automatically close at the end of the day. 

  • A new traffic camera snaps to action for smoother commutes

    Another eye in the sky is helping motorists monitor a busy stretch of road in real-time.

    A new traffic monitoring camera points directly at the Highway 3 river crossing. It captures westbound and eastbound traffic before, on and after the bridge. The camera takes still images every two minutes, covering the previous 20 minutes of activity.

  • Residential Speed limit 40 pilot Social
    Residential Speed Limit Pilot Project survey still open

    In 2023, we began a pilot project of lowering residential speed limits to 40 km/h in several city neighbourhoods. The areas of Uplands/Blackwolf, Paradise Canyons/The Canyons and the southern portion of Southgate Sixmile continue to be part of the Residential Speed Limit Pilot Project – a multi-year endeavour, with data on the pilot areas to be collected throughout the project timeline.

  • Businesses reminded to submit mandatory waste reports by January 31

    The City of Lethbridge is reminding businesses, organizations and institutions to submit their annual mandatory waste diversion reports by Friday, January 31.  

    More than 450 businesses have already filed their reports with the free and easy-to-use online system, which takes less than five minutes to complete. 

  • City opens funding for non-profit community projects

    The City of Lethbridge is committed to helping non-profit organizations strengthen their capacity to serve their members and the community. Through the Community Capital Projects Grant (CCPG), funding is available to support facility construction, renovations, retrofits and major equipment purchases that enhance community services.

    The City of Lethbridge is hosting a Community Conversation on Wednesday, January 29 from 3-7 p.m. at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena (formerly ENMAX Centre).

  • Council approves Land Use Bylaw changes for housing projects

    Lethbridge City Council on Tuesday approved second and third readings of several Land Use Amendment Bylaws and Area Redevelopment Plan Amendments for four different proposed housing projects on the city’s southside.
