  • Repairs to cause temporary road closure at Festival Square

    A temporary road closure of 6 Street South between 3 Avenue and the laneway near Festival Square is set to begin on Monday, March 31. This contractor warranty repair work involves replacing damaged concrete panels in the roadway. As the concrete will take about a week to cure to the required strength before the road can be reopened, this work is anticipated to be complete by Monday, April 14, weather permitting.

  • Electric Utility crews upgrading electricity meters

    The City of Lethbridge Electric Utility Department is upgrading residential and commercial electricity meters that are due for testing. This is in alignment with regulations set by Measurement Canada to ensure electricity is being measured accurately. 

  • Crafting a refreshed Public Art Master Plan

    The community is invited to help shape the future of public art in Lethbridge.

    The City is updating our Public Art Master Plan. Passed in 2012, the Plan recognizes public art as a key part of Lethbridge's culture. The update will reflect the city's growth, changing public expectations and new trends in public art and planning.

  • Time running out to ‘Make Your Mark’ with one-time grant for local non-profits

    The deadline is fast approaching for registered non-profits to apply for the Make Your Mark (MYM) grant funding. Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply before the application deadline on March 31. The one-time grant offers capital funding to support non-profit organizations in enhancing their capacity to provide community services. 

  • Bylaw 6479 - Rezoning of 277 Rocky Mountain Blvd. W; 6000 University Dr W, 4040 10 St. W; 301 Rocky Mountain Blvd. W; 317 Rocky Mountain Blvd. W; 4015 25 St. W

    Proposal

    This bylaw proposes an amendment to Land Use Bylaw 6300 to rezone the parcel listed above. This will allow for new low density residential Development as planned in the approved Watermark Outline Plan. Additionally, it will also rezone the existing Senator Joyce Fairbairn Middle School Site and its associated sports fields  to Public Building (P-B) and Park and Recreation (P-R), which are conventional land use Districts that are commonly used for other School Sites within the city.  

  • Bylaw 6487 - Amendment to River Valley Area Redevelopment Plan (RVARP)

    Amendment to the River Valley Area Redevelopment Plant (RVARP) to update the position of the Safe Development Setback Line in relation to the developable area for Riverstone Phases 18 and 19.

    This update to the Safe Development Setback Line, shown on three maps in the RVARP, is required in order for the Land Use Bylaw Amendment proposed under Bylaw 6472 to occur. 

  • Bylaw 6485 - 1703 16 Avenue South

    Proposal

    Amendment to Land Use Bylaw 6300 to rezone the parcel listed above within the Agnes Davison neighbourhood. The purpose of the proposed Bylaw 6485 is to allow the development of a four-unit townhouse, which is not allowed in the current R-L zoning. The Bylaw 6485 regulates parking, density, building height and building setbacks. 

  • Public Hearing - Bylaw 6472 - Riverstone Phases 18 and 19 (505 40 Ave. W & 4855 University Dr. W)

    The bylaw will change the parcel from Valley (V); Future Urban Development (FUD); and Low Density Residential (R-L) to Low Density Residential (R-L); Park and Recreation (P-R); and Valley (V). This is to ensure the parcel is zoned appropriately for development with areas below the Safe Development Setback Line zones so that they cannot be developed.

  • City Council again declares April 7 as Green Shirt Day

    Lethbridge City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to have the Mayor’s Office again declare April 7 as Green Shirt Day. Mayor Hyggen says he wants to keep bringing this item to Council annually, rather than as a one-time declaration, to continually highlight Logan’s impact and the importance of talking to your family about becoming an organ donor.
