Starting today, the City of Lethbridge is launching a Community Satisfaction Survey to gather valuable feedback from residents and help guide ongoing efforts to improve programs and services.  

As part of the Reimagine 5 Street South project, sewer inspections and survey work is being conducted this week along 5 Street South. Starting tonight, Monday, July 21, to Thursday, July 24, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., full road closures will take place consecutively, at each block along the corridor. The night closures avoid peak traffic times and ensure safety. 

With so much going on in the community right now, I want to start my July column with my congratulations for this month.

Amendment to Land Use Bylaw 6300 to rezone the parcel listed above from Heavy Industrial (I-H) to General Industrial (I-G) to allow for a greater range of land uses on the parcel than is allowed under the current Land Use District.

It may be the middle of summer, but preparations for this fall’s Municipal and Schools elections are gearing up.

A pilot project is making it easier for residents to report full garbage bins and empty doggie bag dispensers.

Bridge rehabilitation work on Whoop-Up Drive will begin next week and construction will continue until the end of September, weather permitting. Lane closures and detours will create traffic delays on Whoop-Up Drive and adjoining commuter routes. 

Beginning July 14, the south end of Exhibition Way South will see a transformation that includes removing the aging timber retaining wall and upgrading the pathway.
