As clocks “fall back” this weekend, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services reminds residents to take the opportunity to check and maintain their smoke alarms and prepare their homes for the colder months ahead.
Lethbridge’s new City Council is now on the clock. In a Swearing-In Ceremony held Monday afternoon at Lethbridge City Hall, the Oath of Office was administered for each of the nine members of the 2025-2029 Lethbridge City Council: Mayor Blaine Hyggen and Councillors Al Beeber, Mark Campbell, Belinda Crowson, Rajko Dodic, Rufa Doria, Ryan Parker, Jenn Schmidt-Rempel and Ryan Wolfe.
With the appropriate checks and balances and an audit now complete, official results have been released for the 2025 Lethbridge Municipal and School Election.
Returning Officer Bonnie Hilford says that with 20/20 polls reporting, unofficial results show that Lethbridge residents have voted in their new City Council-Elect. All polls are now counted, as well, with unofficial results for Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Separate School Division Ward 2 and for the Lethbridge Public School Division contests.
Returning Officer Bonnie Hilford says that with 20/20 polls reporting, the unofficial results of the Lethbridge Mayoral contest show that Lethbridge residents have re-elected Blaine Hyggen as Mayor-Elect with 7,591 votes.
