    City awarded $375,000 from Federal Government’s Canada Community Revitalization Fund for new play space in Galt Gardens

    ​The City of Lethbridge has been successful in securing $375,000 in grant funding through the Government of Canada's Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) to construct a new Inclusive and Accessible Play Space in Galt Gardens that will add to community vibrancy and the vitality of downtown by fostering active, social, educational, inclusive and accessible play opportunities.

    ​Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) hosted the Nozzle Forward program in collaboration with other fire departments across Alberta and Saskatchewan.   • City Council approves new Public Places Bylaw

    ​Lethbridge's new Public Places Bylaw is designed to be a foundation to clearly communicate community expectations for respectful behaviour in public. It is anticipated that, applied fairly and judiciously, Bylaw 6280 will contribute to maintaining a safe and viable community. City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously on both second and third reading in favour of the Public Places Bylaw, which includes a start date of July 1.

    LGTBQ+, Transgender flags now on permanent 3 Avenue crosswalks

    ​As the 3rd Avenue South reconstruction project nears completion, two new painted crosswalks at the 7 Street intersection will have extra significance. On Tuesday, construction crews complete painting and installation of a progressive LGBTQ+ flag crosswalk and a Transgender flag crosswalk on the corner of 3 Avenue South and 7 Street South in Downtown Lethbridge.

    Starting September 1, 2022, paid parking is being introduced at the ENMAX Centre as a fair and equitable way to generate revenue from users (both local and visitors) and to reduce the ENMAX Centre's reliance on support from Lethbridge taxpayers.

    Bylaw 6330 would amend the listed bylaws, along with 3 additional procedural bylaws.

    This is a rezoning to allow for the development of an elementary school site in compliance with the West Lethbridge Phase 2 Area Structure Plan and Garry Station and Piers Outline Plans.
