​Lethbridge's new Public Places Bylaw is designed to be a foundation to clearly communicate community expectations for respectful behaviour in public. It is anticipated that, applied fairly and judiciously, Bylaw 6280 will contribute to maintaining a safe and viable community. City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously on both second and third reading in favour of the Public Places Bylaw, which includes a start date of July 1.

​As the 3rd Avenue South reconstruction project nears completion, two new painted crosswalks at the 7 Street intersection will have extra significance. On Tuesday, construction crews complete painting and installation of a progressive LGBTQ+ flag crosswalk and a Transgender flag crosswalk on the corner of 3 Avenue South and 7 Street South in Downtown Lethbridge.

Starting September 1, 2022, paid parking is being introduced at the ENMAX Centre as a fair and equitable way to generate revenue from users (both local and visitors) and to reduce the ENMAX Centre's reliance on support from Lethbridge taxpayers.

Bylaw 6330 would amend the listed bylaws, along with 3 additional procedural bylaws.

This is a rezoning to allow for the development of an elementary school site in compliance with the West Lethbridge Phase 2 Area Structure Plan and Garry Station and Piers Outline Plans.  

November is still many months away, but it was at the centre of an important Council decision recently in order for the Royal Canadian Legion to move ahead with installing more than 70 banners on light standards in several areas across the city.

As Lethbridge gets ready to welcome more than 100 teams from across the province for the Alberta Treaty Hockey Games this week, there will be a unique public art installation helping the tournament skate smoothly.

What an incredible 10 days of entertainment we just had in our city! Last Sunday, I was invited to speak at the closing ceremony at the 2022 Tim Hortons Brier. I spoke about what an absolute honour it was to have Lethbridge as host and what a thrill it was to have fans back at the ENMAX Centre to witness this incredible event in person.
