    Traffic along a busy south Lethbridge roadway is being impacted by a water valve repair.

    Both westbound lanes along the 1300 block of 3 Avenue South are closed and detours are in place.

    Proposal:

    Amendment to Land Use Bylaw 6300 to rezone the parcel listed above from Direct Control (Existing) to Direct Control (New) to allow the development of up to 6 residential units on the site as the current zoning only allows for up to 4 residential units.

  • Council repeals historical designations to former buildings

    Two former buildings in Lethbridge have officially had their historic designations removed. On Tuesday, Lethbridge City Council formally passed Bylaw 6451 and Bylaw 6452 – repealing the previous Municipal Historic Resource (MHR) designations to the former Bow On Tong and Manie Opera Society buildings.

    Every second counts when a fire breaks out, and the early warning provided by working smoke alarms can be lifesaving. During this year’s Fire Prevention Week, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) encourages residents to take action to make sure their smoke alarms work for them.

  • Northside office fire under investigation

    An investigation is underway into a commercial fire in north Lethbridge. Just after 11:40 p.m. on Friday, October 4, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to an office building in the 1300 block of 33 Street North. Crews from four fire stations worked quickly to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjacent properties. 

  • House fire at Cabot Landing West causes injuries

    An investigation continues into a west Lethbridge residential fire that left two people injured.

    Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) responded to a residential structure fire on Cabot Landing West on Friday, October 4 at approximately 4:33 p.m. Crews from four fire stations responded to the scene after neighbours heard smoke alarms and called 9-1-1. 

  • Turn bay onto westbound 5 Avenue North/Highway 3 closed for guardrail work

    A busy turn bay in north Lethbridge will be closed for guardrail work this weekend.

    Starting Sunday, October 6, there will be no access onto westbound 5 Avenue North/Highway 3 from southbound Scenic Drive North.
